Girls, please accept my heart-felt condolences. I basically grew up with your dad. He was my uncle, but in reality he was more like an older brother, and only 5 years older than me. The news was so shocking. I can only imagine the pain and grief you feel, but I know first-hand what it is like. Prayers from Texas.

I send you my condolences. I didn’t know your father. The loss of a parent shakes your world. Remember everyone’s grief is different and handle yours in your way. Everyone will tell you time will help you heal and this is “sort of true”. Time makes loss doable. The best thing about time is your memories (some day) come before the tears. Memories became so valuable. Blessings to you and your family.

I’m very sorry for your loss. Howard was my “computer guy” for over 25 years. He built all my computers with varying versions of Windows – some now defunct. Yes, even DOS – I’ve known him that long. He received many panicked phone calls over the years. His response was always, “First of all, don’t panic.” I usually told him that it was too late, panic had already set in. He always talked me down from panic and was very patient. One year, on the last day of tax season, my computer came on; but there was a blank screen on my monitor. There were several frantic phone calls to Howard. Dad even went over to his house and knocked on his door – probably pounded actually. Howard showed up within the hour with a “loaner” monitor; so, I could finish the day. That’s the kind of guy Howard was. Also, Howard was a “dog person”. Another thing that made him a great guy. He loved his dogs. I remember his basset hound. When his mother passed away, he took in her dog – a Jack Russell, I believe. However, she was too energetic and I think one of his daughters took her in. He loved his Pepper. I hope she finds a good home that will spoil her as much as Howard did. Since dogs were such a big part of Howard’s life, I will donate to Strayhaven Animal Shelter in his memory. My sincere condolences. Howard will be greatly missed.

Vicki, Jenny & Cheryl, I am a classmate of GHS and graduated with your dad. I remember him very well in high school, he always had such a big smile on his face and always had a great personality to go with that smile. May the beautiful memories that you shared with dad be with you always. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you all at this time if sadness. Deepest Sympathies to you all.

I am so sorry for the loss of Howard. I worked with him at the IU for many years. After I retired I bought my computer from him. He was always helpful when I ran into problems. My prayers are with you at this time. He always spoke of you with love.
